This week, we bid a fond farewell to our colleague and friend, Dave Rinker, who will be leaving Xpera to enjoy his well-deserved retirement.
Dave has served as a Quality Assurance (QA) inspector since 2009, first with Roel Consulting Services Inc., which was acquired by Xpera in 2012, and is now part of the VERTEX family. In this role, he has been an invaluable member of our team, conducting inspections of single- and multi-family residential units for large production builders in Southern California, ensuring building code and builder specification compliance as well as conducting pre-production plan reviews.
Dave’s roots in the construction industry run deep, including owning and running his own construction businesses starting back in 1980.
Prior to his QA inspection work, Dave was owner and managing partner for Southwest Development Inc., where he supervised the day-to-day construction of tract homes in California. He also owned Sunwest Installations Inc., a general contracting firm that owned and operated Kitchen Master Inc., a retail kitchen and bath remodeling company serving three Western states with 350+ retail kitchen remodels each year. He also owned and operated Diversified Home Services for 15 years, mostly providing single- and multi-family remodeling and light commercial buildouts.
His career in construction has provided him with great satisfaction over the years, but he looks forward to his retirement years offering him more time to spend with his wife, three children and two grandchildren. He also has several hobbies and new interests he plans to pursue, including improving his golf game, learning to play saxophone and taking Spanish classes. He also is not completely “out of the game,” as he still owns several rental properties and is also building some houses near Joshua Tree National Park. For men like Dave, the passion for building is something that never entirely goes away.
We wish Dave the very best in this new phase of life and thank him for his many contributions to our company and clients over the years.
